First Worship at Harvest Time

AJ plays guitar for music time

On a cool Sunday afternoon in 2024, after three years of planning, dreaming, preparation and prayer, we held our inaugural gathering at Camp Magruder's Edwards Lodge. We were delighted, in this worship at harvest time, to host nearly as many children as adults, as we were joined by several young families, and a few of our local elders.

Troy and I led music, with him on mandolin, and myself playing guitar and providing vocal support for the singing time. Percussion instruments were quickly picked up by hands small and large, and the whole group moved in rhythm together.

We began with a time of gathering items from the surrounding forest that "could be harvested". The items were incorporated into our creative activity of the day while Troy and I shared some reflections on the subject of Harvest, and the Changing of Seasons.

Whether you were able to join us in person for our first gathering, or you are just discovering our community, we want to welcome you to our next get together!

For worship time, we gather on the first Sunday of each month, and for this season, we are meeting at the Edwards Lodge on the grounds of Camp Magruder.

To find us on November 3rd. Remember that we will have a change in our clock times that weekend, so be prepared for that!

Be sure to dress warmly, as we will very likely be moving our bodies in the natural world, even if we do part of our worship in the lodge itself.
